ABOUT THE GALLERY

AINA Gallery's curatorial vision begins in South Asia but extends outwards internationally from there. The New York gallery provides a vital platform for Modern and Contemporary artists from South Asia as well as the Middle East and Africa, and, finally, diasporic artists to realize their vision in a global and ever-shifting world. 

AINA Gallery was previously known as Aicon Art and operated on Great Jones Street for close to 20 years. In solo shows, the gallery has shown the work of modernists such as Francis Newton Souza, Sayed Haider Raza, Maqbool Fida Husain, and Ram Kumar. The gallery has also presented ambitious solo shows of established artists, such as Rasheed Araeen, Salman Toor, Faiza Butt, Victor Ekpuk, and Rachid Koraïchi.
